B/Works is an image manipulation program that artificially ages photos. You choose a picture, apply a black and white or sepia tone, enhance the picture with a few simple effects and print or export your creation.
Most image manipulation programs like Photoshop and GIMP can easily add a sepia filter to a photograph, so B/Works doesn't really offer anything new or revolutionary. It does have a few nice touches that could appeal to users. You can use the great "Heavy Sky" setting to automatically add some contrast to the sky in an outdoor photo. If you take a lot of pictures of interesting weather conditions, this is a great feature.
There are plenty of filter options here and not much else. You can zoom in on your images and move around a simple slider bar to add more or less of an effect to each photograph. The interface is fairly dated and contains only three buttons, which is something of a disappointment if you're used to working with more complex image editors. On the plus side, you can view live previews of your changes right along with your original photograph.
B/Works is only really good for a single task, but you'll enjoy using the program if you're simply looking for a way to artificially age your photographs. The filters look fine, but you'll need to use high-quality images to avoid JPEG compression. If you follow the instructions to the letter, B/Works will work very well. It's not a free program, however. With that in mind, you'll probably want to look around for something more advanced if you want full control over your images.
